Dance band, Schlager-Taxi, and the Nürnberg Youth Dance Group will be visiting Canada in June 2014 as part of the Siebenbürger Sachsen Kulturaustausch (Transylvania Saxon Cultural Exchange).
On Thursday June 26th the Transylvania Club will be hosting an Abschiedsfeier (Farewell Celebration) for these groups. Our TCK Dance Group and Choir will perform along with our talented visitors from Germany! Bring your family out to the Alpine Club to enjoy a delicious Saxon BBQ Buffet, as well as, incredible entertainment, cultural celebration…and lots of dancing!

At our Annual General Meeting on March 23, we elected our new Board of Directors for 2014, including our new Transylvania Club President, Reinhard Schmidt. Reinhard has held a leadership role at the Transylvania Club for many years as our Special Events Director. We know he will be successful in his new role as President and wish him all the best in the coming year!
We must also say a bittersweet farewell to our President of twelve years, Alfred Lowrick. The Board of Directors would like to thank Fred for his time and dedication to the Club; the Transylvania Club would most certainly not be what is it today without his wholehearted and unwavering leadership. We wish him the all the best in his new role as 1st Vice President of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. K-W Oktoberfest has a great leader among them! Thank you and congratulations!
